Rebecca Wener MA LPCC
I’ve spent much of my life wrestling with uncertainty — who I am, where I fit, what I’m here to do.
I hold that uncertainty with reverence now. It shaped me.
My path hasn’t been linear. I have a Master’s in Public Health and another in International Disaster Psychology. These days, I split my time between clinical practice and Disaster Behavioral Health Response — supporting people through personal trauma and the collective grief of a world shaped by wildfires, displacement, climate anxiety, and ongoing instability.
I’ve never felt more fulfilled than I do now.
I also know what it’s like to come into your truth later in life. I began dating women in my mid-thirties, and that shift brought both deep questioning and, ultimately, peace. I bring that lived experience into my work with people exploring gender, sexuality, and identity. There’s no “too late” when it comes to self-acceptance.
I spent most of my life on the East Coast, with time overseas before settling in Colorado. I know what it’s like to feel dislocated — to search for belonging in unfamiliar spaces. While I’m not an immigrant myself, I find deep purpose in supporting immigrants navigating cultural transitions and identity shifts. I’m bilingual in Spanish and feel at home offering therapy in both languages.
I work with people in moments of crisis and transformation — the in-between places where life feels uncertain. My passion is helping others rebuild trust in themselves, in their bodies, and in their capacity to move forward. Not perfectly, but with intention. With truth. With power.
What I Bring
I’m an LPC Candidate — still on the path toward full licensure — but what I offer extends beyond clinical training. I bring decades of lived experience, career pivots, personal growth, and a deep understanding of what it means to question everything… and still keep going.
Therapy with me is collaborative. We’ll meet wherever you are and work together to find the tools, language, and practices that support your healing.
I’ve been trained in EMDR and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I also draw from Narrative Therapy, DBT, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support work around trauma, identity, anxiety, and life transitions. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all healing. Your story deserves nuance, care, and deep respect.
Who I Work With
I work with survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence — people who’ve had their sense of safety and self profoundly impacted. I understand how overwhelming the aftermath can be. I also know the quiet beauty of reclaiming your worth, your body, your voice.
I’m also deeply committed to supporting people carrying climate grief and eco-anxiety. In a world shaped by wildfires, floods, droughts, and uncertainty, many are quietly holding dread, paralysis, and grief. If that’s you, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to carry it in silence. We can talk about it. We need to talk about it.
Beyond the Therapy Room
I’m a human first. I’ve reinvented myself more than once — not because I had it all figured out, but because I didn’t. I’ve made peace with uncertainty. I’ve found purpose in the mess. And I believe healing isn’t always about returning to who you were — sometimes it’s about discovering who you’re becoming.
Let’s figure it out together.
