Amy Moreno MA LPC EMDR-C

Owner of Rebuilding Together Counseling

Once upon a time, I was a hot mess of a human.

I hit rock bottom at the age of 41; after a brutal divorce and then a PTSD diagnosis from unresolved childhood trauma and grief. I did not know who I was outside of my roles as a mother and a wife. I quite literally rebuilt myself with the help of some amazing therapists and sheer grit and determination.

I have been where you are.

I get it.

It is my mission in life, as a human being and now as a counselor, to be as open, honest, and real as I possibly can.

To show up as authentically ME.

Every. Single. Day.

I strive to help women break down all of the walls that hold us back; self-imposed as well as societal. I want to help you learn to scream from the hilltop, “I want to be seen, I deserve to be seen! I want to be loved, I deserve to be loved!”

And so on and so forth!

Let me be your guide and mentor and help you recover your power. I am here to help you heal just as I did.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado helping women and female-bodied, non-binary individuals do the hard work through tele-therapy.

I specialize in trauma, empowerment, self-esteem, and grief work with women. I am also a Certified EMDR Therapist. I have training in Flash technique as well. I treat trauma through various interwoven theories, like IFS and EMDR, and use techniques to guide you towards a place of internal peace and power. I am working on my certification in IFS-informed-EMDR.

I maintain a private practice in Colorado and received my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University in 2021. Though I have only been in private practice for a few years, I have a LIFETIME of experience with trauma and self-love. Come meet me - I am really fucking good at what I do!

On a more personal note:

I am learning to live with menopause and all of the ‘joys’ associated with that. Ask me about HRT!!

I went back to school as a single mom at the age of 43 and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. One of my children struggles with an eating disorder that has turned our lives upside down and yet, somehow we manage. I married the love of my life at age 46 and have never been so happy in my life as I am right now.

I love website design, interior design, and refinishing furniture - I have a great eye for anything visual. I love to take care of my 102 plants (ok, sometimes I definitely do not love to take care of them!).

And I really truly love my job.

I live in Lakewood with my husband and our blended family of three children (13, 15, & 17) and four dogs (all needy rescues).

I believe in vulnerability, rawness, open mindedness, truth, honesty, and swearing

A LOT.
